What is a mobile application?

A mobile app is a powerful and “sticky” way to reach promoters of your brand. Mobile Roadie currently supports iPhone Apps, working with Apple’s App Store, and Android Apps, working with Google’s Android Market.

The future is mobile, and your brand promoters are turning to their mobile device more and more. Promote your tweets, news feed, photos, videos, music, merch – whatever you represent and/or sell, your app can be a great resource for you.

How do I market the App once it's complete?

You’ll receive an email once your App is live with all sorts of tips and tricks. In general - tweet about your App (and do it a few times to reach the most possible fans), put our fan wall widget on your website, talk about it at events/shows, and talk to your fans in your App once it’s live - that will keep them coming back. Be sure to use your unique http://road.ie/XX link to promote your app.

How big do I need to be to use Mobile Roadie?

Mobile Roadie works brilliantly for anyone, small or large. Our infrastructure can handle 1,000 or 1,000,000 downloads of your App.

How can I make money from Mobile Roadie?

There are many ways you can make money from Mobile Roadie. You can charge users, if you’d like, to download and install the application. If you have music, you can sell your music inside the App via iTunes (iPhone) or Amazon/any site you choose (Android). If you have events/shows, you can sell tickets to them inside the App. If you have a merch/ecommerce store, you can link to it inside the App.

Is there a time commitment?

None. Mobile Roadie is month-to-month, however there are no refunds for partial months or prepaid annual packages.

How long does it take to get my App on the App store?

Upon signing up, you have full access to your CMS and we guide you through submitting your content. Once you’re ready, let us know through the CMS. We check your App and assuming there are no issues submit it to Apple and/or Google on your behalf. Apple takes approximately 1-2 weeks to be approved. Android takes a few hours.

If my App gets really big, does that affect the cost?

You have two options with pricing – incremental or flat fee. With incremental, there is a setup fee and monthly fee. The monthly fee increases after the included installs at the rate of .01/mo/install, up to a max of 250 for Core and Pro, and 500 for Pro. Annual packages are prepaid and include unlimited usage.

Do I need to be a programmer to use Mobile Roadie?

Not at all. Mobile Roadie is super simple to use and anyone who can use a computer to type an email can build their own mobile App.

Can Mobile Roadie help me with the graphics?

We do offer a custom theme option for 1,500 per platform. You can choose this option during signup.

If I want to stream music, does my music have to be on iTunes?

No - your music does not have to be on iTunes to stream it. Just upload an MP3 in your CMS and we will stream that into the App.

My music isn't in iTunes. Can Mobile Roadie help?

Who can update my app?

Anyone you give access to. You’ll be given a single login (your email address and a password you choose), and anyone you pass that information on to can update your App. Be sure to use discretion in who you give your login information out to – that person has access to change it all.

Could Apple possibly reject my App?

If Apple rejects your App we will work with you and them to do whatever necessary to get it approved. However, it’s very unlikely that Apple will reject your App, unless it has offensive content (nudity, etc.).

What parts of the App can I update without having to resubmit to Apple?

You can change any content you want, and it instantly updates the app. You can also change your color scheme and names/order of sections (Core, Plus), and modify the layout, fonts, colors, headers, etc. (Pro) with no resubmit required. Changing your app name, loading image, and icon require a resubmit.

If I have to resubmit to Apple or Google, is there a cost?

You get a certain # of resubmits included depending on the package you choose (see the Pricing Page [link[ for details). After that, it’s 50 per resubmit.

Is my data safe?

Completely. We house your content with Media Temple, backed by the best technology and housed in the safest data centers available today. We also backup daily.

How do I cancel?

We hate to see you go, and want to do whatever we can to make it right. However, if you want to cancel despite our best efforts, simply send an email to hello@mobileroadie.com. Include your account name and the reason you want to cancel.

Do I need to modify my content for my Android app?

No. We’ve streamlined the setup process so the same images and content work on both iPhone and Android devices. Even your App Vitals don’t need to be modified.

How long does it take for my Android app to show up in the Android Marketplace after I submit it to Mobile Roadie?

Apps are available within 24 business hours.

Are Android apps only available in the Marketplace?

No, they don’t have to be. You get a unique road.ie link for your app, and can use that to distribute it.

How is my billing adjusted when I add an Android app to my account?

Depending on whether you choose an incremental or flat rate option, your fee will be adjusted. See the pricing page for more details.

Where do Push Notifications appear on an Android app?

Push Notifications are handled differently by Android, and are actually a “Pull” service. Your messages are still blasted out immediately, and can be via geo-targeted, but appear as an alert in the top status bar on the Android device and may take a few minutes to appear.

How do I sell music in my Android app?

You can link to any store you’d like to sell music on the Android.

Do I have to resubmit each time I want to change my assets?

No. All of your assets will automatically update in the app, with the exception of the non-standard App Vitals.
